- Is this hosting really completely free?
Yes it is free to residents of the Maltese Islands. It is part of the
package provided free to people when they sign up with malta.com.-
What is your relationship to Malta.com?
We are part of the same network of domains but have a different website
purely to prevent cluttering of the main site and confusion to
international visitors.
- Do you offer paid webhosting?
Maltaspace.com doesn't but Malta.com does. Visit that site for more
information - the control panel is the same but with the features enabled
there that are disabled here.
- How do I access my hosting control panel?
Connect to
http://www.maltaspace.com/cpanel using your username (found in your
malta.com membership page) and the password you designated when you
activated the hosting.
- How and where do I upload my pages?
You can use an FTP client (such as absolute ftp). Connect to
ftp.maltaspace.com on port 21 with
your username and password (as above). Alternatively you can use the 'File
Manager' icon from your hosting control panel.
Make sure you place all files that you want visible on the internet in the
'www' directory. Your main page should be called one of the following:
index.htm, index.html, home.htm, home.html, index.php
- Where can I find the pre-installed scripts?
Click on the 'fantastico' icon in your hosting control panel. You will
find all the preinstalled scripts there and they are quickly installable
by clicking on the script and following the setup instructions.
- I want to use Microsoft Frontpage to design my
site. Does your hosting have the extensions?
The package does not come with extensions by default but there is an
option in your hosting control panel to install them. Simply click on the
'Frontpage Extensions' icon.
- Do your servers support ASP or ASP.net?
No our servers are all linux based and support PHP, Perl, and cgi. We do
not currently have any plans to incorporate Windows servers.
